
Waleska Antunes is a curator and audiovisual translator.
With 10 years in the audiovisual field, she has experience in curatorship, production/executive production, content creation, video and text editing, marketing, and translation.
She has worked with companies such as Vale, Midea, and Sapura on content creation and internal communication materials. She also served as a production assistant for festivals like Olhar de Cinema and the Ecrã Experimental Film Festival, curating retrospectives and special showcases of filmmakers like Rogério Sganzerla and Stan Brakhage.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Cinema and Audiovisual from the Universidade Estadual do Paraná, where she was a scientific initiation researcher funded by Fundação Araucária, focusing on the line of research "Cinema and Immigration"; a specialization in Audiovisual Preservation and Restoration by the Sociedad por El Património Audiovisual; is a postgraduate student in Audiovisual Translation - English at Universidade Estácio de Sá; and a master's student in Literature at the Federal University of Paraná, focusing on the line "Literature and Other Languages".
In 2023, she directed and edited her first short film, "terra incognita", which had its world premiere at the Millennium Film Workshop (USA) and Brazilian premiere at the Olhar de Cinema Festival in 2024, under the Mirada Paranaense category. Selected by Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival as Talent in the category Press.
She currently resides in Curitiba, Brazil, with her cat, Harun.
